Real-Time Spherical Videos from a Fast Rotating Camera
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present a new framework for the acquisition of full spherical videos using a high-speed rotating linear or area sensor equipped with a fish-eye lens. The high capture rate of the sensors allows us to reach high frame rates on the resulting videos. We describe the image processing workflows from the raw data to the full spherical frames, and we show experimental results of non-parallax panoramic videos covering the complete field of view.

An automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is a popular topic in the field of image processing and is considered from different aspects, since early 90s. There are many challenges in this field, including; fast moving vehicles, different viewing angles and different distances from camera, complex and unpredictable backgrounds, poor quality images, existence of multiple plates in the scene, va...
متن کاملStabilizing Omnidirectional Videos Using 3D Structure and Spherical Image Warping
This paper addresses the problem of stabilizing spherical videos. Whereas various techniques have been proposed to stabilize conventional videos, this work is the first approach proposed for omnidirectional videos. We introduce a method for extracting the camera path and 3D information of the environment. A desired smooth stabilized path is obtained by modifying the original camera path. We pro...
متن کاملFast Intra Mode Decision for Depth Map coding in 3D-HEVC Standard
three dimensional- high efficiency video coding (3D-HEVC) is the expanded version of the latest video compression standard, namely high efficiency video coding (HEVC), which is used to compress 3D videos. 3D videos include texture video and depth map. Since the statistical characteristics of depth maps are different from those of texture videos, new tools have been added to the HEVC standard fo...
متن کامل3D Structure from Motion Using Homocentric Spherical Spatiotemporal Image Analysis
A technique for building a three-dimensional description of a static scene from a spatiotemporal image is presented. This technique utilizes Homocentric Spherical Spatiotemporal Image (HSSI) analysis and makes allowances for camera rotation, which is a wider class of camera motion than that in ordinary spatiotemporal image analysis. Experiments with real images from a translating and rotating c...
متن کاملReal-Time Spherical Mosaicing Using Whole Image Alignment
When a purely rotating camera observes a general scene, overlapping views are related by a parallax-free warp which can be estimated by direct image alignment methods that iterate to optimise photoconsistency. However, building globally consistent mosaics from video has usually been tackled as an off-line task, while sequential methods suitable for real-time implementation have often suffered f...
